United Women's Society
One of the important duties of the members of the A.N.S Society is to hold candles during the celebration of the Holy Mass and other Eucharistic devotions. Just as the eternal light in Church represents the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ reserved in the Most Blessed Sacrament, these candles held by the members of the Society represent the light of Christ which is to be carried before all people. In holding these candles, these lights, the members of the Society lead the congregation in the worship of our Lord and show that light of Christ must always be carried with us in our daily lives.
Jesus reminded His disciples, "You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand , where it gives light to all in the house. Just so, your light mus shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father." (Matthew 5:14-16) In the same way the lighted candles remind all members of the congregation that the light of our good deeds must shine before others and glorify God.
United Women Society will meet always on First Sunday of each month after Mass.
